Feeling his warm caramel skin close against her, Lana felt her blush spread from her face to other parts of her body. She shivered, and gently pushed away from him even as she relished the feel of his smooth chest. “I don’t know if that would be appropriate,” she said, floating backwards away from him.
She drifted across the room and bumped into someone before she could stop herself. Lana turned her head to see who she had hit and met the captain’s face, close to hers as his arms wrapped her in a bear hug. She wriggled meekly in his arms, but stopped when his ice blue eyes met hers.
“You know what I think is inappropriate?” the captain asked, “I think it’s inappropriate to sleep through a status check, which the computer tells me you did about eight hours ago, and is what I assume led to this mess.”
Lana nodded, “Yes, I did. I’m sorry, but there’s nothing I can do to change it now.” It was hard for her to think with the captain’s warm body holding her close from behind. The other crewmen watched them intently.
“I can think of something you can do to make it up to us,” the captain said, nuzzling her neck.
